Public Health Informatics Group

The (PHI) Group is a multidisciplinary educational program and research group in Health Services and the Biomedical and Health Informatics Graduate Program.

Mission:  To assemble a group of Public Health and Informatics Researchers, with a shared interest in advancing Health Informatics, fostering collaborations among the group and communications with the broader national audience with an interest in PHI.  The group works to improve the acquisition, integration, and display of information, with the goal of improving both individual and population health. The group offers opportunities for students in Public Health fields to gain a “Certificate in Health Informatics” as well as Masters, PhD, and Post Graduate Fellowships in the Division of Bio-medical and Health Informatics with a specific “Area of Interest” in Public Health or Clinical/Health Services Informatics.  Specifically projects include; eHealth survey application and integration with the electronic medical record; Public Health data collection and bioterrorism syndromic surveillance; and Informatics education.
